[06.01.11] Girls' Generation's First Japanese Album Ships Over 500, 000 Units

Having just released their first Japanese album today, Girls' Generation is already gaining momentum in the Japanese music market. Their album is currently the #1 reserved album in Japanese album stores, with over 500,000 units shipped and with expectations of it becoming a huge hit in the country.

Girls' Generation kicked off their Japanese Arena tour on May 31st in Osaka. Nearly 9,000 people attended the first concert and according to reports, some of the girls even spoke in the Osaka dialect to interact with the fans.

The girls commented, "We've prepared a lot of performances that are worth watching. We will work hard so that our performances can relay energy to the Japanese fans. Please look forward to it."

Additionally, Japan's representative entertainment news show "Mezamashi TV" as well as other news programs covered Girls' Generation's first concert earlier today, with the former even showing a detailed report in the middle of the show.
