In an interview with TV Report held at Daehangno, Go Youngbin recalled, “(Jessica) really did her best, and cried a lot too.”

Go Youngbin continued on by saying, “After finishing her schedules, she came running to Daehangno asking, ‘Oppa, where are the unnies? I miss them.’” He also revealed, “She was crying because it was very strenuous. I remember comforting her a lot.”

He also went on to praise Jessica’s work ethic and performance. “Jessica really did her best to fill in all the performance dates. She did not miss any performance with her busy schedule and always came out once or twice a week to perform. She tried her best, and she did a good job as well.”

Jessica also confessed on MBC TV’s “Radio Star” that “Legally Blonde” was very strenuous on her because of her busy schedule.

This years “Kouhaku” will have an extra special meaning to it as they will be celebrating the coming new year. It will also have an added theme of “Singing of Tomorrow” in wake of the terrible events that plagued Japan this year. During the announcement Sooyoung had a chance to speak about the opportunity of attending this prestigious event, saying, “To be able to attend an event that has such a deep history like this for the first time, all the members are really honoured and happy.” Sooyoung also mentioned that they would like to put on a wonderful performance like their senior labelmates BoA and DBSK who have attended this event before.

Girls’ Generation will be a part of the Red Team, which is led by Inoue Mao. Also a part of the Red Team will be fellow Korean group KARA, who will also be appearing for the first time. However, they’ll be facing off against their labelmate and senior DBSK, who will be on the White Team. The winning team is decided by a combined system, with 10 judges judging the overall performance and an audience vote. Other performers that will be appearing at this years “Kouhaku” include Perfume, Hamasaki Ayumi, aiko, SMAP, Arashi, EXILE and many more.

Girls' Generation's Make-Up Most Popular Amongst Foreign Women

Girls’ Generation was recently chosen as the number one people whom foreign women want to learn make-up techniques from.

A “Global Beauty Class” special was recently recorded on OnStyle’s “Get It Beauty”. Stars’ hair and make-up know-hows that foreign women want to copy were revealed. During the show, fifty women from various countries such as Thailand, France, China, Morocco and the United States guest starred as “Better Girls”. They chose Girls’ Generation as the stars whose make-up techniques they want to learn from the most. They all agreed that a hairstyle that looks like that person just woke up and make-up that looks natural and not overdone were the prettiest.

The artist who is in charge of both Girls’ Generation and Brown Eyed Girls’ make-up appeared, and told the foreign women about natural make-up techniques that all nine Girls’ Generation members use while accomodating their own skin color and type. This episode of “Get It Beauty” will air on November 30th in the afternoon KST.

Girls’ Generation Reveals Christmas Visuals for J.Estina

Girls' Generation Reveals Christmas Visuals for J.Estina

apzHP

After showing their power in Asia, Europe, and the United States, Girls’ Generation members have revealed Christmas visuals that put emphasis on each of their personalities.

Wearing vividly colored skirts matched with spangled bags, the members showed a lovely image for J.Estina’s advertisement. The bag chosen for this Christmas visual is a backpack from the “Angelica” line, which Hyoyeon had chosen in a previously aired CF.

The Angelica mini shoulder bag chosen has shiny spangles, which show a natural two-tone depending on what direction light touches the spangles. The shoulder bag’s design was influenced by shining tiaras, which give a mysterious feel depending on the angles they are viewed from.

Song Jiwon, of the J.estina brand strategic team, stated, “After Girls’ Generation’s previous visual advertisement, customers have been asking about the products and we even had reserved sales. We are looking forward to what type of effect Girls’ Generation’s Christmas visual advertisement will have.”

The Christmas bag Girls’ Generation chose can be found in J.Estina stores in December.

Hyoyeon Confesses, "I Can't Act Cute and Pretty"

hyoyeon - IY2

In the November 26th episode of KBS2TV’s "Invincible Youth 2", G8 held a "Giant Maknae's Daebudo Talk Show! Hello G8 Problem Solver" with Suzy and Kang Jiyoung as MCs.

On this day, Hyoyeon revealed, "It's very hard to act. I squirm when I act cute and pretty." She also added, "I was more easy-going. But after becoming part of Girls' Generation, I didn't think it was right to keep it that way."

She continued with, "When I monitor our appearances, the members who do aegyo (to act cutely) on air come out the most. I tried gritting my teeth and doing it but I couldn't because I was nervous." She also added that, "Now I can act cool, but acting cute and pretty makes me feel nervous."

Girls’ Generation’s “Static Electricity” Look Becomes a Fashion Sensation

Recently, photos surfaced from the Girls’ Generation performance for Woongjin Coway in which the members’ hair was captured wildly sticking out in every direction due to high amounts of static electricity. The photos have led to a new fashion trend in Asia: the “static electricity” look. Top fashion companies in South Korea have been overwhelmed with requests from consumers to give them tips in order to help them achieve this hot new style.

A renowned fashion expert in Korea said, “The members of Girls’ Generation have been very influential in the fashion world. Ever since they sparked the colorful skinny jeans look with their ‘Gee’ music video, women all across Asia have looked at them as fashion icons and trendsetters. Now, we can expect the ‘static electricity’ look to take off and become wildly popular this season.”

Fashion experts recommended choosing colors to match the “static electricity” look rather than styles of clothing. A top fashion guru explained, “It’s best to choose clothing with colors that oppose the color of your own hair. If you have light-colored hair, it stands out visually against dark clothing, and vice versa. You can emphasize this contrast even more by applying makeup in the same way. For example, you could apply foundation that is lighter than you would normally use in order to emphasize dark hair. Be careful not to overdo it, though.” Sunny served as a perfect example for the light and dark concept as her light colored hair starkly contrasted her black outfit.

The signature wild hair of the “static electricity” look is perfectly suited to a winter fashion style, according to fashion experts, because it is one that isn’t difficult to achieve during the cold and dry winter months. Stylists noted that the average consumer often doesn’t moisturize enough, which can leave their skin extremely dry during winter. The lack of moisture combined with multiple layers of clothing rubbing together can often increase the amount of static electricity a person generates. As individuals generate more static electricity, their hair is more likely to stick out wildly in many different directions, just as Girls’ Generation members’ hair did during the Woongjin Coway concert.

Fashion experts were quick to point out that Girls’ Generation’s skin care habits are often excellent, and that the “static electricity” look was one that they must have thought of and displayed on purpose in order to continue their reign as Asia’s top trendsetting group. SM Entertainment could not be reached for comment, so it remains unclear whether or not their “static electricity” style was on purpose. Regardless of the whether or not the members of Girls’ Generation created this style themselves, they seem to have started a new trend and the “static electricity” look is sure to be a hot topic this holiday season.

Singapore SONEs Donate Blood in the Name of Girls’ Generation

Singapore SONEs Donate Blood in the Name of Girls' Generation

DSC07566

Singaporean SONEs gathered together on the 26th of November to donate blood under the name of Girls’ Generation. This event was organized by a few Singaporean SONEs, and took months of careful preparation before the event could take flight. They also used Soshified as the means of communication between the Singaporean SONEs who were interested. The queue for the blood donation started at 12PM, and it ended around 4PM. During these four hours, at least 50 people, spread out across three batches, attended the blood donation drive.  After they were done, they moved to a recreational room where they played variety shows and concert footage.

Following the success of the event, Soshified got in touch with one of the organizers, KSarangHaeT@soshified, who is better known as Kenneth, and he has kindly agreed to share with readers more details on the event.

What gave you the motivation to organize this event?

Interestingly, the motivation was from the Blood Donation event that was supported by Girls’ Generation two months ago. A group of us sat down one night and talked about it, and well, we decided to go ahead with it. It wasn’t exactly smooth sailing at first, since we only had two months and most of us had commitments elsewhere. Time was something we didn’t exactly have.

What gave you guys the motivation to carry on?

We were actually motivated by videos we saw online, with some messages stating how Singapore hospitals were lacking in their blood supplies. Since such an event can be done to help our fellow countrymen as well as fulfill our original purpose of donating blood in the name of Girls’ Generation, I guess we managed to kill two birds with one stone.

Was the response to this event good at first?

In the beginning, we publicized this event within our own thread (Oh! Soshified SG thread) as well as our Facebook page. Since many Singaporean SONEs hardly visit the thread, we only had responses from those members who visited the thread regularly. Honestly, it was a little depressing to see the number of participants for the event during the first two weeks of the “launch” of this event’s registration. But soon enough, one of our organizing team members contacted Cedge and he did us a great favor by publicizing our event on Soshified’s Twitter and Facebook pages. The response was overwhelming and we managed to get more than 50 participants when we closed the registration, which was totally unexpected.

What are some of the problems you guys faced in the process of planning for this event?

One of the problems would be time constraint as I’ve mentioned before. Another would be the event itself. Since we have never done an event that is similar to this, we were literally stepping on foreign soil. Everything had to start from ground zero. We had to find personnel from the blood bank to handle our event, we had to reserve a room in HSA (Health Sciences Authority) for our members to rest in after their donation was done, and we had to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day itself.

How did you feel after the whole event had ended, and what are the chances for you guys to organize a similar event again in the near future?

My whole team was elated to say the least. Although there were some points to be taken away from this event, we managed to have fun during the event and many SONEs whom we have never met before came out to join us for this meaningful cause. The Blood Bank manager even gave us this proposal to donate blood again in three months’ time, which was the basic requirement for each period of blood donation. We’re currently thinking about it and seriously, the chances of this happening is pretty high if our commitments don’t clash.

Soshified also interviewed one of the participants of the blood nation drive, Cedge@soshified.

How do you feel about Singaporean SONEs taking their own initiative to organize this blood donation drive in the name of Girls’ Generation?

Pretty amazing. I was worried about how the response would be, but over 50 people donated.

What did you observe from the sidelines of the event?

In the recreational room, people were having fun, making friends and laughing at variety shows. In the queuing area, some were anxious, though some were relaxed too. In the room where they were actually drawing blood, it was interesting.

Do you mind elaborating a bit more on what you thought was interesting?

Personally, it was interesting to see the process of blood donation and SONEs donating blood, which was inspired by Girls’ Generation, hopefully it’ll be the first time of many. The blood bank representative also mentioned that they were grateful for our donation.

Thanks to Cedge and Kenneth for taking time out for this interview. All in all, this was a meaningful event planned by Singaporean SONEs, and we hope that this event might have inspired some of you to donate blood or organize a similar event to gather local SONEs to donate blood to the blood bank.
