[03.30.11] Jessica on the Runway vs. Taeyeon on the Red Carpet
Jessica and Taeyeon, both from the girl group Girls' Generation, wore see-through outfits on the fashion runway and the red carpet, and are being called 'pure and glamorous' for doing so. On March 29th, Jessica modeled at the F/W Seoul Fashion Week show, held at the Seoul Exhibition and Trade Center, and showed off clothes designed by famous designer Lee Juyoung. Jessica led the other models down the runway, and seized the show in the process. On this day, Jessica wore a laced, black satin dress that gave off an alluring femme fatale feel. In particular, her physique was highlighted by the see-through look created by the laces and a wide belt serving as a corset. Jessica's hidden sexiness was brought to light by a slit skirt which showed her legs and matching long boots. On the other hand, late last year at the Melon Music Awards, Taeyeon wore a black mini dress as she walked on the red carpet, bringing both a sexy image and a sense of "innocent glamour." Taeyeon strayed from her rather cute image with a deep neck line and some exposed black lace. However, while the black lace was exposed, she avoided direct exposure of her cleavage, creating a coy, yet sexy persona. Also, he added a picture informing Seohyun's warm behavior and a note saying "Once again was when Seohyun came to the studio saying thank you, and gave us vitamins along with letters filled with sincerity! Oh I'm deeply moved!". Jung Yonghwa and Seohyun were together from March of last year for around a year as the 'YongSeo couple', and finished their last filming on the 30th. Netizens voiced their opinions saying things such as "I'm saddened by end of YongSeo couple", "Seohyun is a deep hearted girl". [03.27.11] Girls' Generation, 3 Months Since the End of 'Hoot' Promotions.. What are...
It's been 3 months since 9-member girl group Girls' Generation ended their 'Hoot' promotions. There has been great interest on what they have been doing in recent days. Girls' Generation struck the music industry last October with 'Hoot'. They are currently taking a break from promotions in Korea after 2010's year end performances on all 3 of the major broadcasting channels. However, being the most popular girl group, Girls' Generation is still busy. Since the end of 'Hoot' promotions up until the devastating earthquake in Japan, the girls not only promoted in Japan, but they also filmed several commercials in Korea. SM Entertainment, the music label Girls' Generation is currently in, revealed that on the 28th that "Girls' Generation is still actively filming commercials for Intel, Woongjin Coway water purifier, Vita500, etc". Also, they mentioned that "The third single 'Mr.Taxi' will be released in Japan on April 13th. Not only are we planning on promotions for this single, we are also planning several other future albums that will be released in Japan." SM added "The Girls' Generation members are still busy after 'Hoot' promotions, and are still living their every day lives productively." Meanwhile, Girls' Generation appeared in the MBC Special Hallyu Concert this past month alongside TVXQ, Wonder Girls and other artists. [03.28.11] SM Entertainment Welcomes Stanford Students
Students from the prestigious Stanford University visited South Korea as part of a 27-days program called the 'Korea Global Study Trip 2011'. Organized by SM Entertainment and held at the company's building in Cheongdam, the agenda of the trip includes discussions regarding SM Entertainment's unique yet successful business strategies that have become a benchmark worldwide. Artistes from the company attended one of the talks, including members of Girls' Generation, SHINee, f(x) and solo singers Kangta & Zhang Liyin. There were praises and positive feedback from the Stanford Business School students who commented that "the evolution of SM producer Lee Sooman is terrific" and "the teaching was very passionate". This wouldn't be the first time Girls' Generation has had direct interactions with students coming from reputable schools. In March 2009, the girls taught the basics of their 'Gee' dance to 32 students from the Harvard Law School. Their presence was well-received by the students who had requested for Girls' Generation to be there. [03.27.11] Seohyun Sings a Touching Lyric-Changed 'Banmal Song' (Subbed)
On the 26th of March broadcast of "We Got Married", CNBLUE's Jung Yonghwa and Girls' Generation's Seohyun venture on their last date together. Their last mission was to give each other the happiest day as their gift. Sure enough, both of them tried to make the date as special and as memorable as possible, but our Seohyun went the extra mile to make a last stunning impression in front of her on-screen husband. Seohyun looked as if she had forgotten how to play the guitar, but she picked up the guitar and started playing the chords of the "Banmal Song", a song they once sang together regarding politeness. Seohyun said, If we weren't polite to each other, we would probably be regretting it now,". Yonghwa was touched at the thought that Seohyun worked really hard to present the song, even to the point of changing the lyrics. He did not expect the change to the song, and that left him speechless. Check out the Soshified subbed version of the song below: YongSeo fan or not, the second part of their last date next week so be sure to check that out! On March 27th, Intel Korea revealed that they had shown a 3D version of their "Visual Dreams" music video featuring Girls' Generation. [03.25.11] Video Interview for Japanese Magazine 'SPUR' (subbed)
Just this month, Japanese magazine 'SPUR' got to sit down and interview the girls, discussing topics such as their preferred fashion styles, charms, images, (link at end of article), and even gave a brief video interview in which they discussed mostly the significance of the color pink. In the video, the girls were seen wearing bright, lively outfits, and shortly after the interview began, started to discuss the color pink. Seohyun said, "When I think of pink I think of Tiffany-unnie…" The girls nodded in agreement and our resident manager Tiffany herself spoke, saying that the color pink carries a special significance to her members because not only do all of the girls adore the color, but also since it is the color of their fanclub, so they feel that is has an important meaning. Yuri then said that she recently changed her room's wallpaper to pink, as she has begun to like pink more and more recently. Hyoyeon then said jokingly that she switched to a pink toothbrush, causing everyone to giggle. Whether or not she was kidding we do not know... They discussed some other things they bought recently that were pink, and were once again brought back to Tiffany's overwhelming love for pink. The video ended on a happy note, where all of the girls agreed that pink was special because of their fanclub, and then with a final 'We love pink!' shoutout for the viewers. [03.24.11] Former SM Trainee Talks About "Yoona the Buddha"
A former SM Entertainment trainee, Jang Ha-Jin, gave mention to Yoona in her autobiography, citing her experiences and observations of her fellow trainee. She describes the young Yoona saying, "I remember the time when I first saw this unnie. I had my mouth wide open. She was really really pretty. At then, she was tall for a 13 year old, and looked like barbie doll because she had long arms and legs.", commenting on her small face, dimples and shining eyes. After talking about Yoona's appearance, she also commented on her personality; "Yoona unnie was a more genuine person as I got to know her more. She was easy-going and kind, and didn't know how to talk badly behind their back. She also always conceded and took care of others. She laughs so well, that I never saw her fought with others or get mad for 3 years I've known her." and adding that she once thought to herself, "Is that unnie Buddha?". Her praise for Yoona doesn't stop there, Jang going on to say that "She didn't have much greed and didn't want to stand out from her peers" and that "She had nice personality and talent." She finishes off saying that "she was very playful and very funny. Unlike her look, she acted like a guy, impersonated comedians, and did lots of wild pranks, making herself a mood maker. On the other hand, when she was alone, she had lots of deep thoughts. I think I liked that kind of unnie." View full translation here. Now a student at KAIST University in Korea, Jang's praise of Yoona's kind-hearedness and personality has caught the attention of many netizens who have commented "Yoona has the looks of a goddess and the character of the Buddha" and "I can't wait to read this book", among other positive comments. Yesterday, fans were sent into a frenzy with a few teaser pictures from the "Boys Meet Girls" feature of Vogue's April issue on their website. Pictures of the full spread have now surfaced, delighting fans who were looking forward to see a different side of Girls' Generation. The androgynous concept was inspired by Lady Gaga's eccentric fashion, which saw Yuri, Jessica, Tiffany, Sunny, Hyoyeon and Sooyoung sporting unique hairstyles, bold makeup, and of course, the eye-catching accessories. Fans were especially excited as this is first time the girls are pulling off a masculine look to this extent, and many were surprised at how they could still look outstanding with this concept. With the end close by for MBC's "We Got Married" couple Seohyun & Yonghwa, the latest episode brought smiles to many as the handmade scarf issue was finally brought to a close. Feeling bad about losing the scarf Seohyun made for him from scratch, the episode revealed Yonghwa's intentions to make things better as he presented her with a pink scarf he knitted for her within a span of two weeks. After pretending that he bought it (along with a grey scarf for himself) from Japan, he eventually admitted to knitting it himself. Even with the lacking craftmanship, his hard work and dedication to get it done left Seohyun touched and surprised. He then presented her with a notebook filled with polaroids of himself in action as well as a personal note to express his apologies for losing her scarf. [03.20.11] Kim Ah-Joong Wants to be Girls' Generation's 10th Member?
"I want to be Girls' Generation's 10th member!" Kim Ah-Joong confessed her wish to be a member of Girls' Generation on KBS2's Entertainment Tonight 'Guerilla Date' segment. The popular actress, most well known for her role in the 2006 movie, "200 Pounds of Beauty" took to the streets of Insa-Dong with the 'Guerilla Date' crew to meet with her fans who showed up in flocks to catch a glimpse of the star. The topic of idol groups arose during the interview, during which Kim Ah-Joong said without hesitation that Girls' Generation is her favourite. When asked what member she would like to replace in the event that she were to join the group, she replied "How is it possible to leave out a member? Among all nine of them, none can be replaced." adding, "Instead, I would like to join them as the 10th member." With the Girls' Generation members having watched Kim Ah-Joong's dramas such as "That Fool" and covering songs from the OST for "200 Pounds of Beauty" such as 'Byul' and 'Beautiful Girl' on several different broadcasts, the girls will definitely be elated to hear that the actress is a fan. [03.19.11] Soshified's #SNSDVisualDreams World Tour
In our recent news article about Intel releasing new CF shorts featuring Girls' Generation, we made a quick mention about Soshified's efforts to promote Girls' Generation's Visual Dreams through Twitter. We are encouraging SONEs everywhere (that means you!) to take photos of the girls' Visual Dreams posters at famous landmarks or scenic areas in the countries in which they live. After the photos are taken, we would like you all to tweet the pictures with the hashtag #snsdvisualdreams included, along with your location. Also, please post any photos that you take to the #snsdvisualdreams thread we've started here on Soshified, as we're going to be compiling the pictures into a cool project soon. We here at Soshified want to see this become a worldwide trend so that the entire world can see how far the reach of the SONE family is! Here are some examples of photos that SONEs around the world have already begun tweeting. Dong Xuan Market, the largest covered market in Hanoi, Vietnam - photo by @Soo_Lynn Limestone Lake in Southern Thailand - photo by @CR_009 Museum of Natural Science in Houston, Texas, USA - photo by @RFMmichael But the photos aren't limited to just these places. Visual Dreams posters have found their way to all corners of the globe: Singapore, France, UK, Indonesia, Taiwan, the Philippines, Canada, Australia, and places like Southern/Northern California and New York City in the USA. We want to be able to click on the hashtag #snsdvisualdreams and see photos of the beautiful posters from all these places around the world and more! As someone who has personally contributed to this effort already (the photo from Houston is mine), I have some advice for SONEs who are gearing up to participate in this project. The first bit of advice I have is to bring at least a friend or two to help. While you can mess around with the self-timer settings on your camera, having friends around to take the pictures or hold the posters makes everything much easier. It's also highly recommended to dress comfortably and wear shoes that are meant for walking. I found myself pretty exhausted after spending hours upon hours driving and walking around Houston with fellow Houstonian Soshified members GPTX and WingedCBAM. Ultimately, the most important thing is this: Be on the lookout for the posters, because we want to see pictures of them out and about in your home country. Tweet them with where you took the photo, be sure to include the hashtag #snsdvisualdreams and show everyone how proud you are to be part of this global family called SONE! And don't forget to post your photos after you're done in the official Soshified #snsdvisualdreams thread. The fan that got angry over these photos took out the Super Junior members and placed Yuri and Yoona together, looking as if they were hugging each other. Netizens who saw the photos commented, "I didn't know there was such a skilled SNSD fan", "Seriously skilled", "I was surprised at such delicate handwork", and, "Seems like they were really angry," expressing their surprise towards the unnoticeable photoshopping skills. [03.19.11] The One talks about his relationship with Taeyeon (Subbed)
Taeyeon's "star" is certainly shining brightly as her ex-mentor, The One, has spoken fondly of her again in a new tvN Taxi interview. When asked how Taeyeon was as a student, he described her as a child with a strong sense of direction and knew that she "would make it". The One and Taeyeon first collaborated on a duet called "You Bring Me Joy" in 2004 before her debut. Their next collaboration would be 6 years later, successfully reuniting master and protege in the professional musical arena. Released last December, "Like A Star" achieved an "all-kill" on the digital music charts almost immediately. In a show of how close they still are after all these years, The One joked that the song was "carried" by Taeyeon's idol status and other singers have been contacting him to get in touch with her. Find out more interesting tidbits by checking out the interview below! Source: ssfshortclips2@youtube.com Written by: doe@soshified.com |
