On tvN's recent ENews program, professional stylists ranked a list of 40 different idols. The idol that took the lead in best plainclothes fashion with 35% of votes was Girls' Generation's Jessica. Along with her recent beautiful transformation, her fashion sense has helped her become known as the top fashionable idol. Jessica's fashion, that is both girly and chic, was chosen as the number one style that women want to imitate. Her airport fashion in particular gained attention for being both comfortable and stylish. Stylist Lee Hyunbum complimented, "Jessica dresses really well, and has a good understanding of that certain style. I think she is the best within Girls' Generation." Rounding out the top five, Davichi's Kang Minkyung was rated second, B2ST's Junhyung was third, T-ara's Hyomin ranked fourth, and miss A's Suzy placed fifth. [2011.08.03] Girls' Generation Donates Fan-Sent 'Rice Wreaths' to Disabled Center

Girl group Girls' Generation donated rice in the form of 180 kg of "rice wreaths" to a disabled center. For the girls' concert at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Arena on July 23rd, Girls' Generation's fans sent 20 kg "rice wreaths" in the name of each member, totaling 180 kg of rice donated. This donation was sent to the Daniel Welfare Center in Seoul. The Daniel Welfare Center is a center for about 100 mentally disabled, helping them recover and gain independence. To the young patients the wreaths give great meaning by sending them love and helping them dream through the name "Girls' Generation". Center representatives said, "There are many fans of Girls' Generation among the patients residing here, and they'll be very happy about the rice donation." [2011.08.03] Girls’ Generation Voted as Most Worthy of Overseas Recognition

Last month, a survey titled "Which K-Pop Hallyu Star is Worth Overseas Recognition?" was conducted from the 26th of July till the 2nd of August. In the results, Girls' Generation emerged top and seized 83, 705 votes out of the 191, 674. This was 43.7% of the total votes. Fans who supported Girls' Generation said things like, "Having Girls' Generation in a survey is pointless because they'll win," "Right now, it's Girls' Generation. Always, Girls Generation," Asia's top girl group, Girls' Generation," There's no need for second thoughts, Girls' Generation is undoubtedly the best!" Coming in at 2nd place with 49, 852 votes was label mate, Super Junior. They managed to snag 26% of the votes, and they are currently gaining much popularity in the Asian countries especially after the launch of their newest 5th album, "Mr Simple" which they will be performing on KBS's Music Bank for their comeback. JYJ took the 3rd spot with 15, 408 (8%) votes, and TVXQ claimed the 4th spot with 10, 405 (5.4%) votes. KARA came in 5th and managed to take home 8632 (5.4%) votes, Big Bang in the 6th position with 6781 (3.5%) votes and they were followed by SHINee who came in 7th with 3599 (1.9%) votes. [2011.08.02] Girls’ Generation Timetable for Summer Sonic 2011 Announced

Girls' Generation, having just completed a successful national concert tour in Japan, will be back in action at Summer Sonic 2011. They will be appearing as a special guest in Tokyo on August 14th at Makuhari Messe alongside major artists such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, X Japan and many more. The timetable and stage the girls will be performing on has just been released on the Summer Sonic website, stating that they will be the closing act for the "Mountain Stage" beginning at 9pm. Other performers that will be performing at the "Mountain Stage" include P.i.L.; The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion; Yelle, Gypsy & the Cat; House of Pain; Friendly Fires; Two Door Cinema Club; Yelle; the telephones; and opening act Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas. Many artists will be performing simultaneously at different venues on different stages. Summer Sonic staff previously commented that, "Summer Sonic's organizer recognized the quality of their (Girls' Generation) performances and that there was a high demand for them."
